Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 15th of October.
Good morning, Grand Forks.
🎓 Education
A survey of nearly 700 students from two local school districts found that students prefer to keep A-F letter grades and want clearer alignment between classroom work and tests.
Dr. Laura Link recommends a smaller grading scale (three to five categories) so one test does not outweigh weeks of work.
🏛️ Government
North Dakota law requires hay bales stored on highway rights-of-way to be removed by Nov.
1; remaining bales will be taken down by ND DOT district engineers to keep roads safe for winter maintenance.
🏥 Health
Grand Forks Public Health will offer flu and COVID-19 vaccines over the next few weeks via Walk-in Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; they will host sessions on Oct.
21 and Oct. 28 at the Public Health Office (located in the County Office Building).
