EDUCATION NEWS

  • Former transition coordinator Sara Berg—a Grand Forks public schools employee—received the national 2025 McKinney-Vento Liaison of the Year award on Monday for her work with homeless students. The state education department nominated her to help ensure that homeless children have access to school.  Knox News Radio
  • UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences said nearly 50 out of almost 80 students in the new MD Class of 2029 are from North Dakota—after reviewing over 1,800 applications including just over 100 local ones, the dean said the admissions team worked to narrow that gap.  Knox News Radio
  • The Department of Public Instruction is asking North Dakotans to submit comments on new public charter school rules before the December 2 hearing at the Capitol. Superintendent Kirsten Baesler said the rules will offer transparency & accountability similar to traditional public schools and require a public interview for each charter school applicant.  Knox News Radio
