- ➤ Staff Sgt. Walter Carroll, a full-time active-duty Army serviceman + UND distance learning student, will travel to Grand Forks to earn his Ph.D. in Communication. He shifted from English to Communication after encouragement from a supportive professor, aiming for an academic career. Knox News Radio
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Eagles beat the Deacons by 31 points on Friday, Dec. 19, and Lakyn Donnelly scored 41 points for the Horace Hawks (local teams) in a separate contest. Both games reflected competitive play by Grand Forks sports groups. Valley News Live
