🎓 Education
UND marked a milestone when A.J.
Lake became its first Enhanced AT-CTI graduate during Winter Commencement on Dec. 19 at the UND campus. He bypassed the FAA Academy for on-the-job training – a pathway that will allow him to choose his FAA tower assignment soon as the program grows.
🌲 Environment
Researchers at the University of North Dakota are studying cloud seeding to reduce hail damage by analyzing decades of data on ice particle formation.
Marwa Majdi (assistant research professor) said her team will determine if hail suppression efforts lower crop damage.
🏥 Health
Flu cases have risen in North Dakota as Altru Hospital (in Grand Forks) reported half of its tests last week were positive amid 870 new cases.
The hospital set a mask mandate for its units (NICU, ICU, and Cancer Center) while emergency management released a symptom chart to help residents.
