ECONOMY NEWS

  • Natural gas customers in Grand Forks and nearby areas will face a 10.66% rate increase on April 1 after the Public Service Commission’s interim approval. Xcel Energy estimates a typical customer’s bill will rise about $8.42 monthly, with a final 12% increase still pending.  Valley News Live
  • Xcel Energy’s North Dakota natural gas customers will face a 10.66% rate increase on April 1 that adds about $8.42 per month, while the Public Service Commission approved this interim move pending a full rate increase request that could add $13.76 million in revenue.   • The University of North Dakota & Auriga Space have signed a memorandum to collaborate on electromagnetic propulsion technology in hypersonics, counter-UAS and space for national security applications. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State budget officials said unpredictable oil prices have raised revenue potential by nearly $3 million a day as crude oil climbed from about $50 to $80 per barrel amid regional tensions. Budget analyst Allen Knudson warned that these fluctuations may lead to revenue uncertainty.  Knox News Radio

  • The University of North Dakota softball team lost 8-0 in five innings to No. 17 Washington at Husky Softball Stadium on Thursday night. The team is set to play a doubleheader today against Portland State at 4 p.m. + 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.  Knox News Radio
