- ➤ The Downtown Development Association, Northridge Construction and Franklin on 4th are teaming up to design a new mural funded by the Iseminger Endowment for the Arts Grant Program and local contributions to celebrate our area's heritage. The project calls for bold colors, interactive features (like 3D elements) and durable materials (made to resist vandalism) with proposals due by 5 p.m. on June 16. Knox News Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The NDDEQ is updating residents on efforts to meet EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule requirements that will require public water systems to complete an initial service line inventory by Oct. 16 and an updated baseline by November; it recently hosted a webinar to explain these changes and outline inventory procedures (call NDDEQ at 701 328 5190 for more information). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A federal appeals court ruled in a 2-1 decision that the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and Spirit Lake Nation do not have standing to bring a voting discrimination claim against North Dakota, overturning a past ruling on the state's 2021 redistricting plan. Attorneys for the tribes say the decision limits voters' ability to challenge racial discrimination under the Voting Rights Act in North Dakota and six other 8th Circuit states. Knox News Radio

- ➤ Red River girls soccer will travel to Fargo tonight to face the defending state champion Eagles — a win will boost them to 34 league points and put them three points ahead of Davies, who has one match left. The team remains unbeaten with 10 wins, zero losses and one tie and tied with Grand Forks Central in a scoreless game before meeting them again Tuesday to close the season. Knox News Radio
- ➤ Red River Riders baseball team slipped to a #5 seed in the Eastern Dakota Conference tournament after losses Tuesday & they will play West Fargo at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday in a series where the team must win two games and avoid two losses to earn home-field play. Knox News Radio
