- ➤ Officers arrested a suspect in a local robbery after his distinctive tattoo — seen in surveillance images — helped match him to earlier evidence. Valley News Live
- ➤ Grand Forks police arrested Jason Anchondo after he tried to flee on his bike by riding the wrong way near 4th Avenue and Cherry Street—he was found with meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia while he already had a warrant. Knox News Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality urges residents to check the Air Quality Index as rising temperatures and wildfires may lower air quality—putting young children, older adults and those with respiratory issues at risk. Residents are advised to stay indoors and seek help if they have trouble breathing. Knox News Radio
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Altru Health System began tearing down its old legacy hospital in Grand Forks—opened in 1976 with over 69,000 births—to build a larger parking lot for its new facility; demolition is expected to finish by the end of the summer. Knox News Radio
- ➤ North Dakota Health Officials confirmed the first measles case in Burke County, bringing the state total to 28 since May 2; the patient traveled through Williams County, where most cases are reported. Officials warned that those exposed at Lindsey’s Grocery Store and Dollar General in Crosby on May 26 — if unvaccinated— should quarantine and monitor for symptoms for 21 days. Valley News Live
