Two Fargo men were arrested after police found a homemade explosive device taped with electrical tape in a car stopped on I-29 near mile marker 124 on June 11+ a bomb squad confirmed the device exploded while being handled and both men were charged with felony possession of explosives.

Officials warned residents about Black Bear sightings on June 13 as one bear was seen at Grand Forks Air Force Base near Jones and Steen and later contained—though not secured—near a golf course behind North Spark Defense Lab, while Valley City police advised caution after spotting another near 4th Avenue SW and Riverview Drive.
