CRIME NEWS

  • On June 12, the Grand Forks Police Department used underage volunteers to test 17 local alcohol establishments—16 passed while one failed the check.  Knox News Radio

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The State Investment Board has expanded the Legacy Fund’s in-state investment program by adding GCM Grosvenor to lead real assets investments and increasing its commitment to 50 South Capital for private equity and venture capital deals. Gov. Kelly Armstrong said the new plan will boost North Dakota’s economy with an initial $150 million investment over three years.  Knox News Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Kelly Armstrong said that $35 million in housing funds will be disbursed as approved by the Legislature after Attorney General Drew Wrigley found that the governor’s written objections in his veto of Senate Bill 2014 did not target the funds—avoiding a special session and clarifying veto rules for lawmakers. This decision sets clear guidelines for how housing funds will be managed moving forward.  Knox News Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Measles cases have reached a six-year record with North Dakota now showing the highest rate while West Texas sees a decline as more residents choose vaccination. On June 11, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. replaced the 17-member immunization advisory panel with eight new members—some vaccine critics—in an effort to restore trust despite strong criticism from experts.  Knox News Radio
