ECONOMY NEWS

  • Officials say travel for the 4th of July will hit record numbers—local highways and border checkpoints are expected to see heavy delays—and drivers should allow extra time for their trips.  Valley News Live

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents on the Spirit Lake Reservation have not been drinking local water for about a month after a May 27 test found manganese levels at 1.23, which is far above the advisory level of 0.3+ Tribes donated bottled water to residents, and officials will continue testing the supply to protect public health+.  Knox News Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews begin construction on Washington Street near 28th Avenue South today — traffic is limited to one lane per direction, and left turns are closed until July 6th. After July 6th, northbound traffic will reopen fully while southbound remains restricted as work continues for one month — weather permitting.  Knox News Radio
