- ➤ A large fire broke out at a fertilizer storage facility in Deering on Wednesday morning—volunteer firefighter Myron Mogard said he received the call before 6 a.m. and crews from Deering, Surrey and Minot Rural responded while letting the fire burn down for safety, with no injuries and the cause under investigation. - ➤ Tracey Hangsleben (50) sold 40 fentanyl pills to an informant in January 2024 in exchange for $1,000, pleaded guilty to a felony, and was sentenced to 73 months while three additional charges were dismissed under a plea agreement. Knox News Radio

- ➤ Corn fields in the upper Midwest release up to 4,000 gallons of water per acre each day through evapotranspiration—this extra moisture boosts the heat and humidity during the summer.
