ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Jamestown Speedway and River Cities Speedway sent their prayers for driver Laine who was involved in a rollover crash during a heat race on September 20 and was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for evaluation — a benefit account has been set up to support his family. Valley News Live
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Merrifield Hall reopened on campus last week with a ribbon cutting that drew over 100 guests and featured the Hawks in Harmony choir—renewing pride in the historic building with its polished terrazzo floors and frosty-white chandeliers. The hall now houses departments including English, Philosophy and Ethics, Languages and Global Studies, and the Honors Program. Knox News Radio
- ➤ The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks reported a 5 percent enrollment increase and now has 15,844 students — the highest count recorded. Fall enrollment across the state system rose nearly 4 percent — marking the best growth since 2014. Knox News Radio
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota Tax Department estimates that federal tax changes will reduce state income tax collections by about $129 million from 2025—27, which is 9% of individual and business taxes and 2.5% of overall revenue. The shortfall will drop to $93 million from 2027—29 and further to $26 million from 2029—31 when many of the changes expire. Knox News Radio
